IMPORTANT PATIENT NOTICE - MAJOR REFURBISHMENT

Our move during our refurbishment is planned for this weekend (14th/15th January).

A minimal service will be run from London Road Health Centre in temporary buildings in the car park with the majority of services being run from Elstow Medical Centre, Abbeyfields, Elstow, MK42 9GP.

Prescriptions will be available from both sites but patients must indicate on their repeat prescription request where they would like to collect their prescriptions from, if not indicated it will be put for collection at Elstow Medical Centre. If collecting from London Road Health Centre - temporary buildings you will need to check closing times as these may vary from the normal. Please be aware that the majority of pharmacists locally run a collect and deliver service but it will be up to the patient to organise this not the practice.

The works will be for approximately 3 to 4 months.

A shuttle bus has been arranged for a Friday Morning from 9.30.a.m. until 12.30.p.m from London Road Health Centre to Elstow Medical Centre but will be on a first come first served basis so may involve a wait, all patients using this service must allow plenty of time and be prepared to wait. The shuttle bus is able to carry children from 9 months to 4 years in car seats provided (4 only) but all children under 9 months will only be transported if the correct chair is provided by the parent (seat belts are fitted as standard) also any child over 4 years will also need a booster cushion to comply with legislation. If correct seats are not provided you will not be able to use this service. Parents please be prepared to bring additional feeds, nappies etc for young babies as there may be unavoidable delays especially if a high number of people use this service. The practice reserves the right to withdraw this service at short notice and would ask patients to check that the bus is running by ringing 01234 266866.

All extended hours which include the late night and Saturday mornings will be at Elstow.

The phone numbers for the practice remain the same 01234 266851 for emergencies/enquiries and 01234 266866 for appointments.

The practice apologises for any inconvenience caused during this time.

NEW CLINICAL SYSTEM

The practice is in the process of updating our clinical software to System One.

We have a ‘go live’ date at the end of October but staff training will be taking place during the next few weeks which may result in staff shortages and some reduction in appointments.

We will try to make the process run as smoothly as possible but you can help us by:-

  • Ordering your routine prescriptions in plenty of time before you run out as only urgent prescriptions will be issued during the ‘go live’ week at the end of October
  • Being patient with the staff who are trying to use a new computer software
  • oking only urgent appointments during the ‘go live’ week

The benefits of the new system for our patients are:-

  • Secure on-line prescription requests with unique patient login and password
  • The ability to book and cancel appointments on-line
  • Enables you to view past and future appointments
  • SMS text reminders for appointments
